Course Information
Description This course provides a survey of economic systems, forms of business ownership, and considerations for running a business. Students will learn various aspects of business, management, and leadership functions; organizational considerations; and decision-making processes. Financial topics are introduced, including accounting, money and banking, and securities markets. Course Policies
Instructor Policies This course syllabus is for an ONLINE section for the Fall 2020 semester.
The instructor reserves the right to drop any student missing more than two weeks with no online class or lab participation. "Attendance" is monitored as participation and logging into the course.
Assignments are due on the dates provided in Blackboard.
Students are responsible for completing all assigned homework, including reading assignments, by the required due dates.
The lowest exam grade is dropped at the end of the semester. If you miss an exam, this will be your lowest test grade and will not calculate into the exams average. If you miss more than one exam, those subsequent missed exams will be given a grade of zero.
There will be a final exam. All students must take the exam on the scheduled date and time, and failure to do so will result in a 0 on the final exam.
Reliable Internet access is required for all online courses and many traditional courses.
Computer failure and lack of internet access are not acceptable excuses for missed assignments, projects, exercises, quizzes or exams. DO NOT wait until the last minute to complete class work or exams.
Attendance Policy Poor attention to detail and keeping a schedule can be a leading reason for termination from a job in all areas of employment. With these factors in mind, the instructor monitors students' course participation daily. In addition, course participation on a regular basis is necessary for proper skill development.
Academic Honesty Academic honesty is expected from all students, and dishonesty in any form will not be tolerated. Please consult the LSC-PA policies (Section IX, subsection A, in the Faculty Handbook) for consequences of academic dishonesty.
